EXTRACTING D.N.A
On Friday We Were Extracting D.N.A From A Kiwi.
First We Squashed Up The Kiwi In A Plastic Bag
Then We Added Washing Up Liquid And Put It In A Water Bath For 15 Minutes After 15 Minutes We Then Put It In A Test Tube Then We Added Methylated Spirits Slowly And Then Put It In Ice We Soon Seen D.N.A From A Kiwi
I Think This Was A Good Experiment Because I Will Probably Never See D.N.A Again. It Was A Fun Opportunity To See D.N.A

On Friday we got a kiwi fruit and we did an experiment, we had to extract DNA from it we did this by getting a plastic self seal bag and out the kiwi in it.
Then we sealed the bag and squished the kiwi into a mush, we had to get as many lumps out as possible.
After we opened the bag we had to pour fairy liquid into the bag and then seal it, then we put it in a water bath for 15 mins.
After we extracted the liquid, and put it in a boiling tube we filled it up to a quarter and put it in ice then we added meths.
We poured it carefully down the side and left it for a couple of mins then we saw the strands of DNA floating in the meths.
Thoughts:
I thought it was cool but it looked strange and gooey I would like to see it again but I doubt I will
I thought it was fun to do because it was the first time I had seen DNA

Extracting D.N.A of a kiwi
First we got a kiwi and put it in a plastic bag. Then we squashed it with our hands. Then we added washing up liquid and put it in a water bath for fifteen minutes. After that we put it in a test-tube and added mentholated spirit and put the test tube in ice. After a couple of minutes the white strands of D.N.A showed.
I thought this experiment was inspirational and educational I really enjoyed it. It was a once in a life time opportunity to see real D.N.A from a living thing.
We did the experiment so we could see D.N.A from a real living thing instead of reading about it.

Extracting DNA Of A Kiwi
First we got a kiwi and put it in a plastic bag. Then we squished it with our hands. Then we added washing up liquid and put it in water bath for fifteen minutes. After that we put it in a test tube with cold ice to cool it down, till we finally saw DNA appearing in the test tube.
I thought this was a great experiment because this will only be the only opportunity I will get to see some DNA of a living thing.
We did this experiment to see a real part of DNA instead of reading all about it.

We did an experiment to extract DNA from a kiwi .First we got the equipment together and set it up.
We got the kiwi and squished it into a plastic bag then we added 50 cm3 of extraction solutions then we put in a water bath for 15 minutes, we took the mushed up kiwi and filtered it into the test tube to get the liquid out, we added mentholated spirits down the side of the test tube and then we put it into a beaker of ice to let it cool down.
When we took the test tube out of the ice we saw strands of DNA rising up.
We liked this experiment because we got to see the strands of DNA rising up from the liquid we also liked squishing the kiwi.

We did an experiment on kiwi to find D.N.A we put it in a bag and we squashed it and then we had to put it in hot water for 15mins then we opened the bag and we put it into a test tube with ice then we added menthylated spirits and we got a hook to see it.
We like this experiment because we learned more about D.N.A
